OZTeK 09: New Technology for a New Generation |
|
Showcasing one of the largest range of recreational rebreather units ever seen in Australia, OZTeK’09 offers the opportunity for divers to learn more about the capabilities and potential of these machines with the staging of the tenth anniversary OZTeK event, to be held at Australian Technology Park in Sydney, Australia, from the 21 – 22 March 2009.
Love them or loath them, rebreathers have played a critical role in mankind’s exploration of both inner and outer space. Often regarded as just another tool in the military diver’s arsenal of weaponry, rebreathers have also become an essential life-support system for astronauts as well as technical/recreational divers pushing back the boundaries of knowledge in their exploration of the ocean’s depths. Now playing a potent role in the more advanced aspects of recreational diving, the use of closed circuit (CCR) rebreathers has made possible greater access to the ocean’s depths than has ever been possible using the more conventional open-circuit SCUBA equipment. Featuring presentations, workshop and seminar sessions that will give rebreather enthusiasts the opportunity to share their passion with other like-minded divers – and to learn more from several of the world’s most proficient users - OZTeK’09 will include many of the latest models; machines that, with the appropriate training, will carry divers into hitherto undreamed of realms of discovery.
