Mu Koh Similan Marine National Park
Diving is possible year round, but is best between October and May. The Park is visited as Liveaboard excursions from Phuket and day trips from Khao Lak.

61 Coral Gardens

5-20m 15-25m Slight to strong
Popular dusk dive. Extensive coral gardens with large tables of branching corals. Also numerous gorgonian seafans and whips. Oriental sweetlips, snappers and fusiliers.

62 South East Point
10-30m 15-20m Slight to strong
Boulders with archways, caves and ledges. Corals include fire, table staghorns and gorgonian seafans. Leopard sharks, stingrays, lionfish, tunas, barracudas, groupers and surgeonfish.

63 Shark Fin Reef-Hin Phae
10-40m 20-30m Slight to strong
Submerged shelf of geometrically shaped boulders. Corals include acropora, dendrophyllia and gorgonian seafans in the deeper waters. Reef and whale sharks, stingrays and Napoleon wrasse.

64 Bird Rock
15-40m 15-25m Slight to strong Steep ridge with many large sea fans. Marine life includes turtles, triggerfish and leopard sharks in the depths.

65 East of Eden
15-35m 20-35m Can be strong
Submerged pinnacles adorned with tremendous examples of soft corals. Seafans and wire corals. Sloping ref has garden eels, stingrays, parrot fish and wrasse.

66 Batfish Bend
10-20m 15-25m Can be strong Hard coral reef with a variety of crinoids; mostly feather stars. Many sea anemones with anemonefish. Oriental and andaman sweetlips, humphead and giant snappers and batfish.

67 Stonehenge
20-35m 15-25m Can be strong
Feather stars, sponges, butterflyfish, lionfish, snappers, tunas, surgeonfish.

68 Morning Edge
10-40m 20-30m Can be strong
Ridges of boulders. Lots of hard and soft corals, sponges, seafans and small reef sharks.

69 Deep Six
10-40m 15-25m Can be strong
Coral covered boulders. Seafans, wire corals, barrel sponges, feather stars and reef sharks.

70 Elephant Head
15-40m 15-25m Can be strong
Enormous boulders with matrix of swim-throughs. Table corals and seafans. Coral trout, Moorish idols, goatfish, lionfish, triggerfish, snappers & nudibranchs.

71 Beacon Point
10-40m 15-25m Can be strong
Deep dive punctuated by gorgonian sea fans and wire corals. Many trigger fish and small reef sharks. Cruising mantas.

72 Beacon Beach
5-35m 15-25m Weak to moderate
Shallow dive ideal for training and night diving. Plenty of hard corals. Reef life includes groupers, snappers, damselfish and sea kraits.

73 Fantasy Reef
10-40m 15-25m Can rage
Huge variety of both hard and soft corals and all manners of marine life.
Site currently closed for conservation reasons.

74 Donald Duck-M16-Shoe Bay
5-25m 10-30m Mild surge
Outer part has series of boulders with enjoyable swim-throughs. Marine life includes snappers, butterflyfish, lionfish, scorpionfish and trumpetfish. Great night dive for tiny invertebrates. Beware of boat traffic in the shallows.

75 Snapper Alley
5-25m 10-30m Mild surge
Boulders creating underwater canyons. Tree corals, seafans and wire corals. Good representation of small
invertebrates, and as the name
suggests, snappers.

76 The Mooring
10-25m 15-25m Can be strong
Large coral head with gorgonian corals and seafans. Bannerfish, clown and Titan triggerfish and harlequin ghostpipefish. Excellent night dive.

77 Breakfast Bend
10-25m 15-25m Weak to moderate
Nice and easy morning dive. Steep hard coral reef. Garden eels, Napoleon wrasse and small white-tip reef sharks.

78 Christmas Point
10-35m 15-25m Can be strong
Arches and narrow swim-throughs. Many species of hard and soft corals. Cowrie shells. Giant, fimbriated and ribbon eels. Surgeons and unicorn fish.

79 Koh Bon
8-40m 15-30m Can be strong
Steep ridge and wall with good soft coral coverage. Marine life includes octopi, sea kraits, scorpionfish, nudibranchs and small reef sharks. Predictable site for manta rays.

80 Koh Tachai
20-40m 12-30m Can rage
Colourful underwater mounts ideal for multilevel diving. Extensive coral
coverage, barrel sponges, rays, leopard sharks and many invertebrates. Frequent manta rays and whale sharks.

81 Koh Surin Tai-S.E Point
5-25m 10-20m Can be strong
Early morning and late afternoon dive. Hard corals. Angelfish, pufferfish, groupers and crustaceans.

82 Turtle Ledges

Great night dive. Turtles, sea kraits, anemonefish, parrot and wrasse. Many different species of shrimp.

83 Hin Gong
5-25m 10-20m Can be strong
Granite boulders with arches and caves. Gorgonian seafans and wire corals. Good diversity of marine life and reef inhabitants.

84 Richelieu Rock
5-30m 20-30m Can rage
Submerged rock reasonably predictable for whale sharks but guaranteed for schooling pelagics. Tons of reef life in all colours and sizes. Photographers
paradise.
